Dr. Silvers is a native Californian. He earned his bachelors degree from U.C.L.A. in 1975. He received his medical training and degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. For the state of California Industrial Medical Council, he acts as a Qualified Medical Evaluator.

In practice for over 25 years, he has specialized in sports medicine and foot surgery. As a Clinical Assistant Professor of the California College of Podiatric Medicine he has been an instructor at the Los Angeles County/U.S.C. Medical Center. He was a Physician Specialist of the Track and Field Medical Teams for the 1984 Olympic Games and the 1985 World Games for the Deaf.

Dr. Silvers was one of the first Podiatrists in California to perform ESWT with the Dornier Epos Shockwave Generator for the treatment of chronic plantar fasciitis.  He has trained for certification, other foot care specialists in the use of this treatment modality.
